Water Line Installation Public Information Session
DATE: Thursday, October 26th
TIME: 7pm – 9pm
Greenwich Township Municipal Building
321 Greenwich Street, Stewartsville, NJ 08886
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be holding a public information session on the date and at the location listed above. The session will be about EPA’s plans to install a public water system consisting of water mains and service lines in portions of Franklin and Greenwich Townships for properties threatened or impacted by groundwater contamination related to the Pohatcong Valley Groundwater Contamination Superfund Site (Site). There will be a formal presentation starting at 7pm followed by an opportunity to ask questions about the plan to construct water mains and service lines associated with the Site’s remedial activities.
EPA, Rio Tinto, and their respective contractors will be available to discuss the activities associated with the installation of the water mains such as access to your property, constructability assessments, estimated construction schedule, and property restoration. Residents with completed field surveys will also have the opportunity to discuss, review, and approve the proposed location of the service line connection to their home from the public water system. Representatives from Greenwich Township, Aqua New Jersey, Warren County Department of Health, and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will also be present and available to answer questions that pertain to them.
