As of the end of April, B and B Concrete began well overdue renovations to the squad building. Over the years cracking and shifting of the concrete floor caused water damage to the office and bathrooms. This damage forced the rescue squad to look at options for repairs.
These renovations include:
- a complete new concrete floor in the rig room,
- new office,
- kitchen, and
- bathrooms.
New laws came into effect that forced us to make upgrades and accommodations to the bathrooms and kitchen.
A combination of property sale and fundraising together with careful budgeting by our treasurer enabled us to raise the funds to finally start construction. With the help of the Auxiliary, the squad was able to raise the money without using tax payers’ funds.
