Route 173 Over the Musconetcong River - Project Postponed Notice

FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (NJDOT)

The start is being rescheduled again due to the weather, the contractor is now planning on starting on 3/5/10. This was previously scheduled for 3/4/10.

Work: Bridge Deck Replacement
Location: Route 173 / EB & WB / Vicinity of MP 3.4
Municipality/County: Greenwich Township / Warren County & Bloomsbury/Hunterdon County

Impacts: Route 173 will be closed at the bridge (between Maple Drive and Warren Glen Road), local access will be maintained.

Detour - Route 173 EB will be detoured to CR 637 (South Main Street) to I-78 EB to Route 173.
Route 173 WB traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.

Currently the bridge is expected to remain closed for 125 calendar days.

Start Date: Thursday morning, March 5, 2010

Interstate 78 Eastbound Roadway Rehab - Stage 2 - 7 Day Notice

The implementation of Stage 2 was rescheduled from 10/31 to 11/06 due to the recent weather

Work: Stage 2 - Removal of concrete pavement slabs and replacement with asphalt and with pre-cast concrete slabs on ramp.
Location: Route 78 / EB / MP 4.16 to 4.73
Municipality/County: Greenwich Township / Warren County

Impacts: Closure of I-78 EB right lane & shoulder from Edge Road overpass and continuing for the length of the project. Two lanes will be maintained on I-78 EB, shifted to the left. The work zone will be on the right side of I-78 EB defined with concrete construction barrier.

Temporary right lane closures on Ramp C (Route 22 EB and CR 173 WB to I-78 EB) during allowable hours

Interstate 78 East Bound Construction 28 Day Notice

NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (NJDOT)

New Project - 28 Day Notice:
ARRA Project

Work: Removal of concrete pavement and replace with asphalt pavement.
Location: Route 78 / EB / MP 4.16 to 4.73 - Ramp C (Route 22 EB and CR 173 WB to I-78 EB)
Municipality/County: Greenwich Township / Warren County

Impacts: Pre Stage 1 – Resurface I-78 EB right shoulder and Ramp C right shoulder using temporary right lane and shoulder closures during allowable hours.

Stage 1 – Permanent closure of the left lane and shoulder of I-78 EB with concrete construction barrier for the length of the project to reconstruct pavement on left side of roadway. I-78 EB will be reduced from three lanes to two 11’ lanes and shifted to the right.
Ramp C will maintain two lanes shifted to the right and maintain the acceleration lane and taper length as existing.
Temporary lane closures in allowable hours (see attachment) on I-78 EB and Ramp C.

Start Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2009 – Pre-Stage 1
Friday, September 11, 2009 – Stage 1

National Night Out - August 4, 2009

The Greenwich Township Police Department is hosting its third annual National Night Out Against Crime. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support in local anti-crime programs, strengthen police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Our event will be held on August 4, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Greenwich Township Elementary School. We are partners with the Greenwich Township Emergency Squad, Stewartsville Volunteer Fire Company, Greenwich Twp. OEM, Commerce Bank, Rita’s Ice, Shoemaker Entertainment, Every Occasion Rental and the Greenwich ShopRite. Participating this year is the Greenwich PTO, Greenwich Township Neighborhood Watch, Warren County Mosquito Commission and Warren County Tactical Response Team.

There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, Rita’s Ice, cotton candy, games, craft, DARE table, balloon bounce, music by Every Occasion Rental and Shoemaker Entertainment and a possible helicopter landing. Please bring the kids and meet officers from your fire department, rescue squad, police department, OEM county agencies and members of your local neighborhood watch groups.
